Department of Meat Production

 

The Department of Meat Production was established as an entity among the Departments of the Faculty of Animal Production in 1992. The Department is intended to perform teaching, training and qualifying undergraduate and postgraduate students in meat production in addition to conducting and organizing research in relevant subjects including meat production, meat science, meat technology, leather production and technology, fish production and processing.

The Department Labs:

  • Meat Quality Control
  • Meat Science.
  • Meat cutting and processing .

The Scientific ,Cultural and Social  Activities in the Department

  • A General lecture on meat products and quality control was held last  semester and was attended by a considerable number of Staff Members , Post and  Undergraduate Students .
  • Also the Department conducted two training courses in meat and quality control for Somali Trainees in corporation with the Arab Organization for Agricultural Development (AOAD).
  • The establishment of Self Evaluation Committee and Quality  which aims to establish information basic flour for the Department and explanation of the position of strength and weakness and the continuous improvement for business environment and that with the  complete cooperative  with all workers in the Department Teaching Staff and  others .
  • A General lecture on the culture of global communications  role in youth delinquency and how to use it to protect them in collaboration with gender research in Arab countries into ICTs for empowerment
